”I believe that as we get older we should be able to enjoy doing more of the things we love. Slowing down should no longer be the mantra for old age. Yes, our brains and muscles can deteriorate as we get older, but that just means we have to exercise them more.
Studies have shown what we all instinctively know, that quality of life is enhanced through social connections; through learning or teaching new skills and remaining active. This time of life can be truly fantastic, but we need to look after ourselves. We all need to invest in our health. As they say, “if you have your health, you can do anything.”
That’s why we’ve launched Wallacea Living, to make this way of life easier to achieve. From providing opportunities for owners to share and discover talents and interests, to proactive wellbeing programmes with fully trained staff who are always looking out for you and can even provide in-home care facilities, should you need them.
Our mission is to inspire the fun bits of life whilst being there to provide the support and care when needed – we’re creating real communities that challenge the expectations of ageing and offer fuller, richer lives."

“Wallacea Living is inspired by a series of islands in Indonesia – rich in biodiversity and home to many unique species. It’s also where Alfred Russel Wallace discovered and wrote his theory of evolution through natural selection.
This area has an added importance to me as it’s where my father pioneered a reforestation initiative, and a way of measuring carbon increases hand in hand with the local community, a project I assisted with.
Today, ‘Operation Wallacea’ continues to lead conservation travel to various regions, monitoring biodiversity changes and collecting data for research. It has spearheaded the establishment of three new national parks globally, the first and largest of which, The Wakatobi National Park in Wallacea, has been upgraded to a World Heritage Site.
Sustainability, biodiversity and making a positive lasting impact on our communities and our environment are very important to us at Wallacea Living. We’re pledging to uplift biodiversity in every one of our developments and we aim to be net zero by our first opening in 2026.“
Our ambition is for Wallacea Living residents to have the opportunity to experience trips or rather, expeditions, to these fascinating regions from summer 2026.“
