AWARD-WINNING INTERIOR DESIGNER, SUE TIMNEY, JOINS OUR TEAM

WALLACEA LIVING

We are delighted to announce that Sue Timney has joined the Wallacea Living team as Creative Director, following her involvement as a Creative Consultant on our first development. In her role, Sue will spearhead the creative strategy and interior design of our residential and amenity spaces, further enhancing our commitment to creating environments that inspire and elevate the later living experience.

Bringing over forty years of industry experience to the role, Sue has been, and continues to be, involved in the design for all the amenity spaces at our first community in Marylebone, including the restaurant, the cinema, the bar, the library and the multi-functional space. Working together with architectural and interior design firm Jestico + Whiles, who are bringing her vision to life, she has already made a substantial impact on our Showsuite and Show Apartment.

As Creative Director, Sue will continue to enhance our residents’ aesthetic experience, whilst also working with the senior management team to help curate an exciting, inclusive cultural programme of events, for both industry leaders and customers, showcasing diverse perspectives and experiences.

"My vision extends far beyond conventional interior design. I personally understand and appreciate that we're not simply creating another living space; we're crafting an entirely new lifestyle and I intend to further infuse a sense of independence and luxury into the living experience here. I want to introduce exciting new design elements and activities that will enhance the overall ambiance and elevate the residents' daily lives - including curating spaces that foster a strong sense of community", commented Sue.

Sue has been Chair of the Chelsea Arts Club, Chair of Trevelyan Arts Trust and President of the British Institute of Interior Design during her distinguished career. She launched brands TIMNEY FOWLER and SUE_TIMNEY, and is a Visiting Professor and Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Art, also earning accolades such as the Textile Institute's Design Medal. Sue’s nomination for the Prince Philip Designer's Prize by the Royal College of Art earned her a Commendation and she has also been the recipient of the coveted Merit Award from the BIID for her outstanding achievements in interior design practice and her dedication to the broader field of design education in 2022.

Sue’s influence extends to museum exhibitions and brand launches. Her work was exhibited in a show dedicated to her work at The Fashion and Textile Museum in London in 2010, coinciding with the launch of her book, "Making Marks - a design biography." The TIMNEY brand for Home and Fashion was launched by the House of Fraser in 2011, and her designs have been exhibited and are in the permanent collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum in New York amongst others. Her design work extends from working with individual clients such as Sam Mendes the director and Grand Designs Channel 4, to working within the community and wellbeing sector with clients such as the British Red Cross.

Paul Morgan, Co-Founder and CEO of Wallacea Living commented: "Sue Timney's appointment as Creative Director underscores the pivotal significance of this role within Wallacea Living's core philosophy. At the heart of our ethos lies the commitment to creating unparalleled living spaces that embody luxury, culture, and design – environments that not only inspire but also enhance the quality of everyday life. Our residents seek not just the allure of thoughtfully curated aesthetics, but also the practicality that enriches their lives daily. Sue’s wealth of experience and passion for transforming living spaces will undoubtedly play a crucial role in recognising that."

Sue's appointment marks a milestone in our journey and aims to fulfil our vision of a vibrant and inspiring community for our residents.

Welcome to the team Sue!
