On Thursday 16th November we hosted our spectacular ‘Housewarming’ event at our newly unveiled Showsuite. Attendees included local residents, business owners, brand partners, journalists and representatives from the Integrated Retirement Community and care industries.
Guests were welcomed with a Vintage Afternoon Tea and charming melodies, courtesy of an electric harpist serenading guests with timeless classics from the 50s and 60s. Music from The Beatles greatest hits and the soulful sounds of ‘Stand By Me’ by Ben E King and Aretha Franklin’s, ‘Say A Little Prayer’ filled the air, creating an atmosphere of nostalgia and warmth.
The eagerly-awaited Show Apartment was open for those who were curious to be among the first to explore its spaces. Members of the Wallacea Living team, brimming with enthusiasm, answered questions about the apartment itself and the shared spaces and amenities designed for the comfort and joy of residents and their families.

Fionna Cannon, Care & Wellbeing Director, impressed guests with demonstrations featuring our balance board and health kiosk, illustrating the seamless integration of care at Wallacea Living.
The Housewarming unfolded with the spotlight on our CEO, Paul Morgan, who introduced the esteemed VIP guest speakers Louise Minchin (former BBC Breakfast news presenter and author) and Maggy Pigott (renowned author and advocate for joyful ageing). The stage came alive with their engaging discussion on ‘leaning into life’ as they interviewed each other in a lively exchange of inspiring stories embracing challenges and discovering newfound passions.
In unison, Louise and Maggy championed a shared philosophy, celebrating the sense of achievement, exhilaration and fulfilment that comes from embracing life’s adventures.

Louise delved into her love for adventure and the great outdoors, emphasising the transformative power of choosing challenges that are difficult or intimidating. "Unlock your true potential and build resilience," she urged, sharing her personal journey of pushing boundaries later in life.
Maggy, on the other hand, dazzled the audience with fascinating statistics, revealing that a positive attitude can add an extra 7.5 years to one's life. Her passion for dancing, discovered later in life, brought forth compelling data – regular dancing can reduce the risk of dementia by a staggering 76%.

As we moved into the evening amidst the celebration of life, various artists and representatives from our design studios mingled with guests. Sue Timney, Wallacea Living’s Creative Director captivated the audience, providing insights into the interior styling of the Showsuite.

The festivities continued to tantalize the senses as guests savoured Wallacea Whisky Sours, Marylebone Martinis and Zesty Cosmopolitan cocktails by ‘Ohlala’. Delectable canapes from local food supplier Raoul’s Deli added the perfect finishing touch to an evening filled with laughter, inspiration, and the promise of exciting adventures to come.
Wallacea Living’s Housewarming proved to be more than an event; it was a declaration of the vibrant, fearless, and joyful living that awaits those who choose to make Wallacea their home.
